Please read Five-O's Philosophy on selling Puppies and Adult Frenchies and our Terms and Conditions below before contacting us about a Frenchie.
We, here at Five-O, take breeding and raising French Bulldogs very seriously.  Each breeding at Five-O is done with much thought and planning. We strive to produce the healthiest puppies with  the greatest structure, health and temperament possible. Most puppies born here at Five-O are sold as "pets" on limited AKC registration. We do have a puppy every now and then that we might offer on open (full) AKC registration, but this is done on a case by case basis after the puppy has had some time to mature and his/her conformation can be properly evaluated, usually at 12-16 weeks of age if not longer.  If a breeder offers most or all of their puppies on "open" (full) registration, then I would advise you to find another breeder.  Also, if a breeder prices their puppies solely on color, I would advise you to find another breeder.  Show /breeding prospects are what we strive for and any reputable breeder can tell you that those pups are few and far between and these pups are offered mainly to "show" homes.   We do not always have puppies or adult frenchies available. We are not in the business of "slinging out" puppies. If a breeder "always" has puppies available or has puppies offered and is taking deposits on puppies under 8 weeks of age, then I would advise you to find another breeder.  I would be especially cautious of a breeder that posts puppies for sale and would take a deposit on a puppy that doesn't even have their eyes open yet. That is a sure sign of someone that sells french bulldogs solely for money. You have no way of knowing anything about a puppy at that age and baby frenchies are very fragile and anything can happen. Announcing a new litter for viewing pleasure is one thing, taking deposits on newly born puppies is a whole other story.  A puppy can not be properly medically evaluated until they are at least 6 weeks old. Any breeder that takes a deposit on a frenchie puppy that has not been vet checked at 6-8 weeks of age  is not a reputable breeder in my opinion. You should always make sure a puppy has been evaluated by a vet before putting down a deposit.  If you put down a deposit to "hold" a puppy and the puppy does not check out as healthy by the vet, then the breeder should always refund your money. Temperament should be an important thing when considering the selection of a puppy. French Bulldogs should not be aggressive.  Also, the bloodline of the French Bulldog puppy should be thoroughly considered before selecting a puppy. Please do your research and ascertain if a breeder's bloodline is a "healthly" bloodline. It is heart-breaking to add a frenchie to your family only to find that they are from a bloodline riddled with health problems.  Spending time up front doing research and asking questions can prevent a lifetime of pain and heart ache.  A good place to start is to "Google" the breeders name and the Kennel name.  You would be surprised at what you find out sometimes. Also, check "rip-off reports" to make sure that the breeder is legitimate and it is not a scam.

We, here at Five-O, would be happy to help you with your search for a French Bulldog, even if you not buying one from us. If you contact us about a puppy or an adult frenchie, please know that we do not "negotiate the price" and we get very offended when people ask us "what is the least we will take." If that is a question that you need to ask, then you should look for another breeder. We price our frenchies solely based on quality. Show quality/breeding prospects are not cheap. If you are looking for cheap, then you are not looking for quality. And remember the ole' saying, "You get what you pay for."  There are tons of inferior quality frenchies available out there. Look closely at there photos. Do they have the head, bone and build that you are looking for?
What do the puppies parents look like? If you are not happy with the look of the parents, then odds are, you won't be happy with the puppy at maturity.  Look at the background of any puppy that you are considering.   Is there consistency in the ancestors in their quality? Remember, breeding inferior dogs, usually produces inferior puppies. The French Bulldog world is fairly small, so those breeders with "less than reputable" reputations are fairly well known by most. A breeder can have a flashy professional website and still be a puppymill. Please do your homework and ask questions.  I have compiled a list of questions that may be helpful to you during the search for a French Bulldog. Good Luck and please feel free to call or email anytime.

Questions to ask a Breeder who sells  French Bulldogs
Our Philosophy
1. How long have you been breeding French Bulldogs?

2. Do your French Bulldogs have any health problems?

3. Can I have the name and phone number of your vet?

4. Do you have references of people that have bought a puppy from  you in the past?

5. How many litters do you produce a year?

6. Are the puppies sold on limited or full registration and what determines whether they are sold on limited or full registration?

7. Do you offer a health guarantee?

8. Are your French Bulldogs AKC registered?

9. Do you have a kennel? How are the frenchies housed?
(Remember, just because a breeder claims to "not have a kennel"  doesn't mean they aren't a "puppy mill".  Look at the number of puppies that they have offered on a regular basis.) Some of the  worst conditions that I have seen have been in "home settings"  where the frenchies are kept in small, cramped, dirty crates, with  no room to run and play.

10. Do you take deposits on puppies before they are old enough to be vet checked and/or before they have their eyes open? ( If they say yes....find another breeder)

11. If I can no longer keep the puppy/dog, will you take the puppy/dog back?  ( A reputable breeder is always responsible for what they have produced and should always take the frenchie back)

12. Do your males free breed? And do your females free whelp?
(If the answer is yes, I would recommend finding another breeder. Most males do not and can not free breed because of their build. If the male is able to free breed, he would probably not be a good candidate structurally. There are a few exceptions, but they are rare.  Any breeder that allows a female to "try" to free whelp is irresponsible. If they make the conscious choice to breed the female, then they should make the responsible choice of guarding her health and the health of the unborn  puppies. French Bulldog puppies heads are suppose to be big, making it difficult for a female to "naturally" have the puppies. Therefore, all responsible French Bulldog breeders do c-sections.)

12. Can you provide current registrations, medical records and pedigrees on the parents of the puppy? May I contact your vet about these dogs?
